Robby Rae graduated from Linn-Mar High School in Marion, IA in 1981. His upcoming book reveals that this is where his battle with alcoholism began and went unchecked.
At the age of 18, shortly after his birthday, Robby enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his service, he specialized in supply and operated military vehicles. His responsibilities expanded as his superiors recognized his capabilities, culminating in the honor of serving as the Commanding Officer's driver.
In this photo, I am seated at the Colonel's desk with some of my fellow Marines. One of them, to my left, has been my friend for 36 years.
The Marine Corps instilled in me core values of discipline, integrity, dedication, and the importance of teamwork.
However, this period also marked a free run in life for Robby Rae, where alcohol played a significant role.
